Jazz FOR SAle festival 2025

jazz FOR SAle festival

The second oldest jazz festival in Slovakia – Jazz FOR SAle was founded in 1990 on the premises of Club M on Moldavská Street in Košice and it is its 35th year anniversary this year. During the first four years of its existence, it had had the character of a club festival, and only in the year 2000 did it settle on its current form – presenting top performers and formations of the national jazz scenes of the V4 countries, as well as presenting world-renowned performers from overseas. During the three festival evenings, it brings comparison of the level and development trends of the presenting formations with an emphasis on content quality and its variety and genre diversity – that is, introducing new projects or productions mediating newly released DVDs or CD albums.

During its history, it gained international acclaim and credit, as evidenced by the participation of top world musicians in previous years: Eric Marienthal (USA), Gary Willis (USA), Llibert Fortuny (S), Gergö Borlai (HU), Hadrian Feraud (F), Scott Kinsey (USA), Michal Urbaniak (PL), Arild Andersen (N), Miroslav Vitouš (CZ), Randy Brecker (USA), Harry Sokal (USA), Adam Makowicz (PL), Steve Hackett (GB), Tomasz Stanko (PL), Eivind Aerset (N), Leszek Mozdzer (PL), George Mraz (USA), Mike Stern (USA), Didier Lockwood (F), Scott Henderson (USA), Ulf Wakenius (S), Lee Ritenour (USA), Benny Maupin (USA), Anthony Jackson (USA),Anna Maria Jopek (PL), Jeff Andrews (USA) or Hiromi Uehara (J).
